Heat Pump bulk buy
Happy and warm

Want your home to be warm without using as much energy or money? Heat pumps are by far the most efficient and cost-effective form of heating and we are offering a bulk-buy deal. By partnering with local specialists Sackett Services and pooling our purchasing power, we are providing a special bulk buy price of $1,499 on the high quality Fujitsu 6kW heat pump (other units are available at discounted prices too). The offer ends on 15th November 2015, so get in quick.

Win a Solar Hot Water system
Apricus prize

This year, we are teaming up with Heart 107.3FM and Apricus to run a Sustainability Challenge in the lead up to the Festival. You are invited to give your home and lifestyle a sustainable kick using our quick tips and tricks. Not only will you reduce your ecological footprint and utility bills, but if you track your progress using our online form and bring it into the festival, you will go in the draw to win a fully installed Solar Hot Water system (conditions apply) valued at close to $6800 – thanks to Apricus!

Global challenges, local actions
Greenfleet

This year at the Sustainable Living Festival, we are running a panel discussion on sustainable transport and how we can reduce the environmental impacts of fossil fuel burning. As one of the panellists, Greenfleet's Wayne Wescott will help us understand how we can offset our vehicle emissions and invest in Australia’s ‘green infrastructure’. Since 1997, Greenfleet has partnered with organisations and individuals to plant more than 8.5 million native trees across Australia, creating 400 native and biodiverse forests and enhancing the value of farms. Greenfleet is a proud sponsor of our Festival.

Slithering CDs
Re-using CDs

This month we'd love you to bring your old CDs to our office, so we can create an informative Festival artwork. We are highlighting the creative re-use of materials and would love to hear about your creative re-use ideas, so post them on social media using the Don't Waste Hobart hash tag. Did you know that, when not being used to make fabulous artworks, your old CDs can be recycled through the South Hobart Tip shop? They collect a range of recyclable materials like CDs, computers and aluminium, and process them ready for recycling. Find out more about recycling beyond the yellow-lidded bin in our latest Don't Waste Hobart YouTube clip:

Festival volunteers
Festival volunteers

We are looking for people to be involved in our 2015 Sustainable Living Festival. We welcome volunteers of all ages, experience and interests and we appreciate any level of participation. Whether you're interested in simply lending a hand on the day, or perhaps keen to get more deeply involved by taking on a role to coordinate one of the elements of the festival itself, there will be something just for you. A unique way to build community, contribute to a great cause, and have a bit of fun.
